Visit to Slapton
'Celebrate Start Bay' Event, Visit to Slapton Ley Field Centre and to the Slapton Line
The section of the A379 linking Torcross and Strete, is vital to the local economy and environment. At some point in the future the line may be eroded by the sea, but in the meantime we must fight to keep the existing road open whenever it can reasonably be repaired. I support the work of the Slapton Line Partnership in preparing for alternatives should there be a devastating breach at some point in the future, but this should be a contingency plan and not seen as the first option in the event of repairable damage.
